If you saw the entire stock of my cards you would notice an overload of dogs and just animals in general. I don’t know why I’m so attracted to those subjects. It may be the shapes and colors but probably more likely the emotional association with animals. I admit, the comfort I find in the quirks and loyalty of dogs is what has captured me. I know cat people probably feel just as biased. And, yes, I have some cat cards.
I easily have 80 images on cards. Probably ¼ florals/plants; ½ animals/fish/fowl, the rest landscapes, people. Almost all are mounted on Strathmore 5” x 7” deckled edge card stock. If I make a giclee print of a painting, I also order giclee cards with the title and other info printed on the back. Customers sometimes order cards in bulk so I discount 10 or more at $2/ each, plus postage, if I’m mailing them. Otherwise, I sell them at $2.50 each. Sometimes, customers want all of one variety of cards. Occasionally they prefer multiples of the same image but that’s rare. As you might expect, the most popular cards are florals. Good for all occasions. And, they are fun to paint.
